`Mr Bean' discharged from hospital

London, Aug 7 : Rowan Atkinson, popularly known as Mr Bean, has been discharged from hospital after suffering a shoulder fracture in an accident.

The 56-year-old was hospitalised after he crashed his luxury McLaren F1 car. The car spun off the road, hitting a tree and a road sign before catching fire. 

Atkinson was seen leaving the hospital in Peterborough, England, in a wheelchair and was driven away in an ambulance.

"I understand he has a fractured shoulder blade which is very painful and why he needed to stay in overnight. He is shaken but not stirred. I think he was in pain and had painkillers," mirror.co.uk quoted Atkinson's representative Peter Bennett-Jones as saying.

"The car has been removed and I'm sure he won't want it to be written off. He will want to get it repaired straight away... He will be very rattled and I think he'll want to keep as low profile as possible," Bennett-Jones added.

Facebook scam says Lady Gaga's dead!

London, Aug 7 : A scam doing the rounds on social networking website Facebook claims that singer Lady Gaga has been found dead in a hotel room.

To warn people about the scam, computer security firm Sophos has released a statement, reports msnbc.msn.com.

"If you are tricked into clicking on the link, you are taken ultimately (via a website which sloppily allows an open redirect) to a webpage that pretends to contain a BBC News video report," senior technology consultant Graham Cluley said in a blog post.

Ryan Reynolds, Charlize Theron end 2-month-old romance

London, Aug 6 : Ryan Reynolds and Charlize Theron have reportedly called it quits after a brief summer romance.

The couple, who quietly started dating less than two months ago, decided to part ways in late July.

‘Just Friends’ actor Reynolds, 34, is said to have initiated the split with Theron, 36, because he was only looking for a summer fling while she wanted to settle down.

“He only wanted something casual, but she’s in a rush to settle down, have kids and start a family since she’s getting older,” the Daily Mail quoted a source as telling Us Magazine.

“Charlize didn’t take it very well when he broke it off. She knows deep down that it wouldn’t have worked, but she is pretty bummed out about it all,” the source added.

Jeremy Jackson to bare all?

London, Aug 6 : Former "Baywatch" child actor Jeremy Jackson is set to bare all for cash as a member of The Chippendales dance troupe in Las Vegas.

The Chippendales is a touring dance troupe best known for its male erotic dancing performances.

The actor, who played David Hasselhoff's son on the television show, is in talks with The Chippendales bosses about a long-time role in the saucy, adults-only revue.

Jackson's representative said the actor is hoping to replace 98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons, who briefly appeared as a Chippendale on the show, reports tmz.com.

If it all works out, it will be Jackson's first job since appearing on reality TV show "Celebrity Rehab".

Mila Kunis slept while shooting with Timberlake

London, Aug 6 : Actress Mila Kunis says she dozed off while shooting a lovemaking scene with "Friends With Benefits" co-star Justin Timberlake.

The Ukrainian-born actress admits the pair had to do so many naked scenes during the shoot that she got tired and took a nap, reports thesun.co.uk.

"Towards the very end, we were shooting the lovemaking scene at his father's house. It was like an 18-hour-long day and 17 hours into it, I was laying there and...and I was like: 'I'm just going to close my eyes for a minute'.

"Next thing I know, you're like: 'OK, we're done!' I literally took a nap!" said Kunis.

Washington, Aug 6 : Seems like Vanessa Hudgens has moved on from her former boyfriend Zac Efron

The 22-year-old ‘High School Musical’ series star is reportedly dating Swedish guitarist Felix Rodriguez.

Hudgens was recently spotted getting hot and intense with ‘The Sounds’ star at a Hurley-sponsored party at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach, California.

“They were full-on kissing, touching and holding each other... They were kissing for so long, they seemed like teenagers. She kept laughing and kissing him,” Contactmusic quoted an onlooker as telling Life and Style magazine.

'Tekken' - Nothing new in this martial arts film

After his master is murdered, a young martial arts exponent enters a contest, to fight seemingly undefeatable opponents and after almost losing emerges winner and kills the murderer with a little help from a beautiful female love interest, who also happens to be a contestant. How many times have you heard and seen this plot in cinema before? Here's one more addition - "Tekken". 

Of course, there are 'original' elements. Like it is not his master, it is the mother who's killed. A mother who also happens to teach him martial arts. And yes, it is a futuristic, 1984-styled city where messages like 'strength through order' blare out through loud speakers. You're not supposed to ask why in a city of the future they still have martial art games. Also, the law enforcers in the city are, well, clad in Ninja outfits. Ingenious, isn't it?

One has to admit though that this movie - adapted from Japanese Anime film of 1997 which was an adaptation of an arcade game - does not take itself seriously. It delivers its kicks, punches and explosions and like a nubile ninja gets out of your face before your eyes start drooping from its hackneyed plot. The film has very low ambitions and thus reaches it. 

What is a martial arts movie without its dosage of pretentious one-liners that young teens can hang on their walls. "Tekken" has its share. Sample this: 'If you can breathe, you can still fight. You lose only when you decide.' Touche. 

There are action junkies who, like little kids who love watching anything that moves, look forward to familiar films with a protagonist beating the crap out of everyone else. This film is exactly designed to cater to that segment of the audience - that is in large numbers worldwide. 

Thus for a film that is not looking to break new ground and instead tread on familiar ones and give audiences a 90-minute fantasy and action-filled escape, this one does quite a flawless job. Just for that it is worth a watch for fans of this genre. To watch, and immediately forget.
