Amongst the many sequels, tentpoles and blockbusters crammed into this year's jammed summer season, it's easy to forget about Disney Pixar's June release of Cars 2. After releasing two international trailers at the end of last year, the latest trailer expands on the adventures of Lightening McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Mater (Dan Whitney a.k.a Larry the Cable Guy) as they travel to the World Grand Prix and Mater gets involved in international espionage with Finn McMissile (voiced by Michael Caine) and Holley Shiftwell (voiced by Emily Mortimer).

Cars 2 is a 2011 American computer-animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios , and it is the sequel to the 2006 film, Cars. In the film, racecar Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) and tow truck Mater (voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) head to Japan and Europe to compete in the World Grand Prix, but Mater becomes sidetracked with international espionage. The film is directed by John Lasseter, co-directed by Brad Lewis, written by Ben Queen, and produced by Denise Ream. Cars 2 is also the first movie John Lasseter has directed since the release of the original Cars in 2006.


The film is being distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and will be released in the United States on June 24, 2011 and the United Kingdom on July 22, 2011.The movie will be presented in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D, as well as traditional two-dimensional and IMAX formats. The film was first announced in 2008, along side Up, New, and Brave (previously known as The Bear and the Bow), and it is the 12th animated film from Pixar Animation Studios.


Plot :

Racecar Lightning McQueen and tow truck Mater embark on a journey to Europe and Japan to compete in the first World Grand Prix to determine the world's fastest car. During the adventure, Mater becomes sidetracked by international espionage, while Lightning McQueen continues his pursuit to win the World Grand Prix. Mater is torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the World Grand Prix and helping with a top-secret spy mission. Through the journey, Mater and Lightning McQueen meet a new cast of friends and enemies, including Finn McMissile (voiced by Michael Caine), Francesco Bernoulli (voiced by John Turturro), and Holley Shiftwell (voiced by Emily Mortimer).
